First, it is always important to understand the various terms that are associated with cannabis consumption, so let’s talk ‘dispensaries.’ Simply put: a cannabis dispensary (or provisioning center) is a state-licensed facility in which many different products that are sourced from many different brands are sold. Think of a dispensary as a liquor store, whereas in this analogy, a microbusiness would be a microbrewery.

- A cannabis microbusiness is only allowed to cultivate, process, and sell cannabis products from just one location.
- Cannabis microbusinesses are only permitted to grow and sell products they cultivate and/or formulate.
- This means that products from outside brands are prohibited.
- A cannabis microbusiness can only grow 150 plants at a time, compared to other operations, in which plant counts can stretch into the thousands.
